I have been reading about these inkjet printers in the literature so when I visited Scitex-Europe outside Brussels (to receive training on their Scitex EverSmart flatbed scanner software) I took a peek at the Iris iProof. At trade shows I have seen this plus the various other desktop proofing printers from Hewlett-Packard, 3M, etc.
The Iris iPROOF Professional desktop proofing system offers better inks than you would get from Canon or Epson and industrial strength software (notably missing by most cheap Epson desktop printers). Most of these printers come from Canon in any event. Imaging area is 12 x 18 inchs, full bleed for 11x17 tabloid size. For more information www.irisgraphics.com and/or www.scitex.com

An additional Iris proofer is the Iris43Wide Imposition, a double-sided digital imposition proofer. We cover that wide printer in either www.large-format-printers.org, www.wide-format-printers.org or www.FineArtGicleePrinters.org. The links at the bottom or the index-directory of each site will indicate where or whether Iris printers are included (as the Iris Giclee Printer is naturally included on the site covering fine art printers).
